Bass Player Magazine has stated that "Steve Bailey is to the 6 string fretless bass, what Columbus is to America". A partial list of his extensive performance credits include touring and recording with a wide variety of artists, from Dizzy Gillespie to Jethro Tull, and The Rippingtons to Willie Nelson.  He was twice recognized as runner-up Bass Player of the Year by Bass Player Magazine and is featured on three solo CDs. Steve was a faculty member at the Bass Institute of Technology for over ten years and is on the Advisory Board and columnist for Bass Player Magazine. He is co-founder, with Victor Wooten, of Bass Extremes, a cutting edge two bass group on the Tone Center label. He is the author of numerous books and videos on bass performance, endorses Fender Basses, TC Electronics Bass Amps, BassLines pickups, and D'addario Strings, and is constantly in demand worldwide as a clinician and performer. His new Fender Signature Bass, the SRB Six String Jazz Bass, was recently released.
