July 05, 2011

“Our Sonic Sessions events give the GRAMMY members who make the recordings the opportunity to put our products through their paces first-hand and get an in-depth look at microphone, signal processing and monitoring techniques,” noted Peter Chaikin, Director, Recording and Broadcast at JBL Professional. “It helps them improve their studios and their recordings, while also giving us invaluable insight into how our products are being used in the industry.”

NORTHRIDGE, California — HARMAN Professional, the Northeast Chapter of the Producers & Engineers Wing of The Recording Academy and GC Pro recently co-sponsored the latest Sonic Sessions product application showcase at Guitar Center in Manhattan. The event featured products and representatives from HARMAN’s AKG, JBL Professional and Lexicon, with four demonstration rooms set up to exhibit the latest in HARMAN professional recording technology.

“As the organization behind the GRAMMY® awards, we are committed to encouraging technical as well as artistic excellence,” said Maureen Droney, Senior Executive Director of The Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing. “Sonic Sessions is an ideal way to bring producers, engineers, manufacturers and consumers together to exchange ideas and learn about new technologies.  We are proud to work with HARMAN and GC Pro to put on such a successful and educational event.”

Two demo rooms were set up from AKG, with one demo room each for JBL Professional and Lexicon. HARMAN representatives Joe Wagoner of AKG, Peter Chaikin of JBL and Tiffany Stalker and Casey Young of Lexicon were on hand to demonstrate the products, which included AKG K271 Mk II professional studio headphones, C 12 VR and Perception 820 Tube microphones, the Lexicon PCM Native Effects Plug-In Bundle and JBL LSR Series studio monitors.
