Lexicon® Announces New Pitch Algorithms for the PCM96 in Software Version 3.0.0.7

November 25, 2008

Salt Lake City, Utah – Lexicon®, a Harman International Company (NYSE-HAR), today announced its software update version 3.0.0.7 for the PCM96.  The new software version underscores Lexicon’s commitment to provide PCM96 users with new functionality and increased DAW support, along with enhancements to improve software performance and make the system more stable and reliable.  Featuring a wide array of rich, complex reverb algorithms with related delays and effects, the single rack-space PCM96 integrates seamlessly into the modern studio as a control-only DAW insert or FireWire streaming hardware plug-in.

Included in the software update is a new set of pitch shift algorithms, adding to Lexicon’s already legendary selection of effects and reverbs.  They support both practical shifting and shifting for special effects.  The new VSO Pitch algorithm can be used to help bring a choir up to pitch or to correct the pitch shift created by common video conversions, all while maintaining a solid stereo image.  It offers the user enhanced control through the ability to raise or lower the pitch of a voiceover or dialog track.

New Multivoice Pitch algorithms combine multiple shifters with Lexicon’s powerful delay architecture to create climbing pitch ladders, shifted echoes, voice doublers, along with many other effects. Additionally, the software update provides plug-in compatibility for Steinberg® Cubase and Nuendo.

Commenting on the updated software, Randy Garrett, Director of Marketing for Lexicon stated, “This PCM96 software upgrade represents Lexicon’s continuous commitment to providing our customers with new functionality and the highest quality products and support.  The PCM96 is being used in many high-profile studios because of its rich, full sound and we take pride in the fact that this software upgrade is largely representative of the results of quality feedback.”

With two channels XLR analog and two channels XLR AES/EBU digital I/O, as well as MIDI, Wordclock, Ethernet and FireWire connectivity, the PCM96 is equally suited for studio or live use.

The new software is available free of charge in the download section of the Lexicon Pro website (www.Lexiconpro.com).
