Lexicon® Announces Firmware Update to Its PCM Series PCM92, PCM96 and PCM96 Surround Stereo Reverb/Effects Processors

Building on the success of the PCM96, the new PCM96 Surround offers more presets, more configuration options, and more inputs and outputs. The PCM96 Surround gives you industry standard reverbs and effects, with tremendous flexibility. Use the PCM96 Surround as a plug-in with your DAW, or keep it connected to your mixing board. Either way, you have a multitude of configuration options to choose from, without having to move any cables.

The PCM96 Surround is availble with either 6 XLR Stereo AES inputs and outputs, or 2 DB25 6-channel analog I/O and 1 DB25 6-channel digital I/O. Both versions also feature MIDI, Wordclock, Ethernet, and FireWire®.

The PCM96 Surround is a great box! Hardware / Software, the best of both worlds. Mixing in Protools I use only hardware reverbs for my main reverbs. Using the PCM96S as a Plug-in now makes it possible to map it to my ICON and control all the parameters right from the console. I can save all my settings and recall them for any remix and since ninety percent of the mixing I do is in surround, being able to recall all my settings in an instant keeps my work flow moving.
