- High-impedance front panel input for electric guitar or bass.
- Separate mic and line level input controls with individual peak indicators.
- Monitor mix control for balancing an audio source between live input and playback mix level while recording. Can be switched to stereo or mono.
- 2-channel, 4-segment meter to monitor exact levels of the analog-to-digital converters.
- High-powered headphone amp offers ultra-clear fidelity while delivering ample power for professional as well as consumer headphones.
- RF-filtered and TRS balanced Line outputs for monitoring through powered speakers or recording to an analog source such as a cassette deck.

| I am having trouble setting up the Omega with my software. |
Setup for Cubase LE4 is outlined in the Omega user's guide.
The Omega user's guide can be located on the product's Downloads Page.
Setup for Windows is on page 15.
Setup for Mac OS is on page 16.
For help setting up the Omega with other software recording programs please see the Omega Setup Guide.
|
| How many inputs can I record at the same time with the Omega? |
You can record up to 4 discrete channels of audio with the Omega. All 8 of the Omega’s inputs can be mixed down onto the 4 channels to be recorded. |
| Is the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb plug-in compatible with other software? |
The Lexicon Pantheon reverb that comes with Cubase LE is only available for use within Cubase. The Lexicon Pantheon reverb is also included with Cakewalk's Sonar (versions 3, 4, 5 and 6) but is only available for use within Sonar. A stand-alone version of the Pantheon is not available separately. |
| What kind of computer do I need to run the Omega? |
The Omega is compatible with PC and MAC computers. Windows Vista or XP with Service Pack 2 is required to use the Omega on a PC. Mac OS 10.2.8 or higher is required to use the Omega on a Mac on power PC Macs. Mac OS 10.4.7 is required to use the Omega on Intel based Macs. The Supplied Cubase LE 4 software has the following system requirements: Windows® • Pentium / Athlon 1.4 GHz • Windows Vista, XP Home, or XP Professional • 512 MB RAM • DVD-ROM rive • Internet access required for license activation Macintosh® • Power Mac G4 1 GHz or Core Solo 1.5 GHz • Mac OS X version 10.4 or higher • 512MB RAM • DVD-ROM drive • Internet access required for license activation • Display resolution 1024 X 768 pixels |
| I would like to use the Omega on a laptop computer. Will there be any problems? |
Most laptops have slower hard-drives that run at 4200 or 5400 rpm instead of the faster 7200 rpm drives commonly found in desk-top computers. For this reason, laptops can have problems running recording software optimally. It may be possible to record successfully if your laptop has a slower hard drive, but you will experience problems if the demands of the software exceed the limitations of the hardware. |
| Will software other than Cubase LE work with the Omega? |
Yes, the Omega is compatible with other recording software, not just Cubase. On a Mac, the Omega uses the built in Core Audio drivers and is designed to work applications that are compatible with Mac OS10.2.8 or later (10.4.7 or later for Intel based Macs). On PC, The Omega is designed to work with applications that are compatible with either the WDM or ASIO mode drivers. When the Omega is used on PC, the computer will need XP Professional or Home Edition with Service Pack 2. |
| Will the Omega work on an Intel based Mac? |
The Omega will work on Intel based Macs with OS version 10.4.7 or higher. The Omega uses Mac’s built in Core Audio drivers. |
| Is it possible to use more than one Omega on my computer at the same time? |
Simultaneously using two Omegas on a Mac is possible if you configure the Audio/MIDI setup utility to recognize the Omegas as a single aggregate device. Since the units are recognized as a single device both can be used simultaneously with Cubase and other compatible software.
Simultaneously using two Omegas on a PC is not a fully tested or recommended configuration, but may be possibile. Cubase allows only a single ASIO device for audio input and output, so using two Omegas with the Lexicon driver is not possible with Cubase on PC. Some recording software uses WDM drivers and allows the selection of multiple devices. It may be possible to use two Omegas in this configuration. |
| I’ve read in the specifications that the Lexicon Omega has dbx preamps. Which dbx unit are the preamps in the Omega based on? |
The preamps in the Omega are the solid state portion of the dbx 386 preamp. |
