Lexicon Studio V4.20 Addendum Addendum #1: When a song or arrangement is saved in Cubase, all bus and FX settings are also stored. If changes are made to the Routing tab in the Lexicon control panel, Cubase will see the ASIO driver as a new device and clear all the bus and FX settings that were saved. Because of this, it is a good idea to make a note of which I/O streams you were using when you saved your song and to reset the Routing tab to match this configuration before reloading the song. In this way you can avoid manually rerouting audio and effects. Addendum #2: If you are using the Wave drivers and make any changes to the Routing Tab in the Lexicon control panel, you MUST restart Windows in order to have these changes take effect. If the ASIO drivers are being used, it is not necessary to restart Windows. Simply quit then re-launch the audio application in order for the routing changes to take effect. If you are using Cubase, for example, and see that some of the Input or Output buses have a blank label, this is an indication that the application must be restarted. If you are using Cubase and have launched the Lexicon control panel from the Windows Taskbar, Cubase must be quit before changes can be made to the Routing tab. Note: at least one Input pair and one Output pair must be enabled in order to launch Cubase. If no streams are active an error message will come up saying that the ASIO Lexicon Studio v4.2 driver could not be loaded. If this occurs, quit Cubase, launch the LexPanel from the Windows Taskbar, turn on one or more I/O streams, then re-launch Cubase. Addendum #3: When using an ASIO application (such as Cubase), the available sources and destinations of Punch and Reverb are those which are enabled (active) in Cubase. If, for example, you wish to route the PC-90 from the 10T A/D 1&2 to the 10T D/A 1&2 you must activate the corresponding Input and Output bus in Cubase. The Lexicon control panel must be exited, then re-launched each time a change is made to Cubase's active streams list. When using the Wave drivers, if the Monitor button is turned on all channels will be available for selection in the Punch and Reverb source/destination lists. When the wave audio application is in play, only the channels that it is using will be available to Punch and Reverb routing. The same applies if the audio application has been configured so that it keeps its audio channels open even when it is in stop (see the specific application's User Guide for details on how to set this up). When there is no audio application running, or the application is in "stop" and has not been configured to keep the audio channels open, all channels will be available to Punch and Reverb routing. (Also refer to Addendum #5) Addendum #4: If you are using the Wave drivers and wish to hear reverb through the PC90, you must keep the PC90 User Interface maximized. As soon as the User Interface is dismissed you will only hear dry audio. Addendum #5: RELEASE OF AUDIO CHANNELS IN SAMPLITUDE It has been found that in order to release channels in SAMPLITUDE for Lexpanel or other applications to use, the "Close all audio devices" selection must be selected before quitting the Samplitude audio application. Addendum #6: DESCRIPTION OF THE PUNCH/MONITOR FEATURE WITH MMIO APPLICATIONS When using the Punch/Monitor feature with MMIO applications, the Lexpanel will sometimes give you this message: "Another application is currently using the installed devices to play audio. To enable the monitor, stop playing audio or shutdown that application all together." Host MMIO applications must open the output channels as well as the input channels in order to use the Lexpanel Punch/monitor feature correctly. REMEMBER: These are guidelines for using the Punch/monitor feature with MMIO applications, in future updates of 4.20 the Punch/monitor feature will be able to be fully utilized in all MMIO applications. Listed below are the behaviors of Lexpanel with the different MMIO applications. CUBASE USING THE ASIO MULTIMEDIA DRIVER In Cubase the punch/monitor feature can be fully utilized. While either during record mode, play back mode or in stop mode any of the selected channel(s) in the LexPanel punch tab will be audible and selectable at will, and can be monitored along with the audio that is processed through Cubase. In order to turn off the Punch, just disable the Punch checkbox on the Lexpanel. ------------------------------------------------------------------- COOLEDIT CAKEWALK For these two MMIO applications, the Lexpanel punch/monitor feature is usable WHILE recording and when in "stop mode". The only difference between the two modes is that in "stopmode" you can monitor the source audio while the Lexpanel is in FOCUS with any of the selected channels, but while recording to disk you can ONLY monitor source audio on the channels that both applications have selected. For example Cooledit channel 1 and 2 are the rec/playback channels. In order to hear source audio while recording, the Lexpanel channels should be set to Ch1 and Ch2 I/O. You do not have to have the Lexpanel in focus to hear audio while recording withthese two applications. ------------------------------------------------------------------- ACID Emagic/Logic Audio mmio Samplitude SoundForge WaveLab For these 5 MMIO applications, The Lexpanel punch/monitor feature can only be used for listening to source audio while the host mmio application is in "Stop Mode" and only while the Lexpanel is in FOCUS. These applications do not allow you to monitor source audio in any way other than through VU meters. Which brings up another comment, when the monitor VU meters are selected in the host application the Lexpanel does not pass audio, this is because the host application has a hold on the audio channels. The Lexpanel will retrieve the audio channels when the monitor VU meters are disabled. KNOWN REPORTED "REFRESH ISSUES" with Lexpanel: These Refresh Issues will be addressed in future updates of 4.20 Addendum #7: In order to change the device selections from the task bar in the LEXPANEL ROUTING TAB and have the selections globally saved, the user must DISABLE the the MONITOR button in the PUNCH TAB before making their routing selections. Thereafter restarting the computer, the user's new Routing setting will be globally saved. Addendum #8: Routing Tab may not always display what devices are connected. Suggested Solutions: 1) Hit the Refresh Button in the Routing Tab. 2) Close the Lexpanel and open it again. 3) Make sure monitor button is disabled and hit apply next restart the computer. Addendum #9: When there is more than one 10T connected to Core32, sometimes the Clock source list does not display all of the clock source selections. Suggested Solution: If the clock source that you want is not available, close the lexpanel by hitting OK and open the Lexpanel again. If you have 3 10Ts connected to the network, You must open the Lexpanel 3+ times in order display the Clock Source that is to be selected. Addendum #10: If the Monitor button is engaged/disengaged in the PC90 Tab Machine 2 will disapear and I/O setting to PC90 will disapear. This is a refresh issue and does not affect audio, just move to another tab or engage/disengage the monitor button again. Addendum #11: Changes that are made to the ASIO Control Panel when it is launched from Cubase will be reflected in the ASIO Lexpanel launched from the taskbar, but changes made to the ASIO Lexpanel from the taskbar are not represented in the ASIO control Panel. Examples: PC90 I/O settings.
