SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Simone Giuliani is a film and TV composer, music producer, orchestrator and keyboard player born in Florence, Italy, based in Manhattan and inspired by music from all over the world. He has composed for films and TV shows and has done digital audio editing on a host of classic jazz reissues including very rare recordings of Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong among others. He is the founder of Emunity Records, a digital label that focuses on future-lounge and ambient soundscapes, and was a contributing writer to the book “The Spiritual Significance of Music.”

We ended up creating interesting textures that haven’t been heard before that ended up on the final mixes for the record, mixed by the great engineer Dave Darlington (Sting, Wayne Shorter) here in New York.”

ANAHEIM, California – Moira Marquis was born to make music. Marquis attended New York University and earned a major in music business and technology. While still at school, she interned at Manhattan’s legendary Right Track Recording studios and was trained by Grammy award winning engineer Frank Filipetti. She worked with industry greats such as Bob Clearmountain, Ron St. Germain and Ed Stasium, and with artists including James Taylor, Kiss, Carly Simon and Mick Jagger.

Moira Marquis then moved to California where she expanded into engineering television and film soundtracks and working in music editorial services for TV and movies. She became a mom and wanted devote more time to her family yet remain in the music business. Her solution: the 2003 opening of Mo’s Garage, a private recording facility that has hosted an array of diverse artists and acts including Public Enemy, the US Marine Corps Band, The Fizzies, The Blood Arm and others.

Bassist Amanda Ruzza Finds Unique Sonic Uses for the Lexicon® LXP Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle

Amanda Ruzza’s open-minded musical approach led her to the Lexicon LXP Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle, used in an unconventional way – as a sonic enhancement to the sound of her 5-string and fretless electric basses. “After installing the LXP reverb plug-in on my computer and quickly dabbling with it to get an idea of what it could do, I immediately used it on some of my previously recorded bass tracks to get some really unique sounds,” Ruzza explained. “By exaggerating some of the levels of its virtual knobs to settings you might not normally use, I was able to create interesting synth-bass solo sounds.”

The new software version underscores Lexicon’s commitment to provide PCM96 users with new functionality and increased DAW support, along with enhancements to improve software performance and make the system more stable and reliable. Included in the software update is a new set of pitch shift algorithms, adding to Lexicon’s already legendary selection of effects and reverbs. They support both practical shifting and shifting for special effects. San Francisco, California – Lexicon®, a Harman International Company (NYSE-HAR), is introducing its PCM96 Surround Reverb/Effects Processor at the 125th AES Convention in San Francisco. The Surround version delivers 50 new and legendary Lexicon reverbs, delays and modulation effects, while at the same time offering more presets, configuration options and additional inputs and outputs. Designed for the modern studio, the PCM96 Surround can function as a control-only insert or FireWire streaming audio plug-in inside any Mac VST® or Audio Units software.

A new Pitch algorithm has been developed for the PCM96 Surround in addition to the Room, Hall, and many more algorithms for music and post production. The Pitch algorithm will also be released as a software update for the original PCM96 on Nov 1st.

Lexicon’s new Room algorithm provides a more flexible alternative to convolution type reverbs. Reflection patterns can be easily selected, scaled and equalized – all while simultaneously passing audio. They can be instantly reversed or combined with a traditional reverb to extend the decay or bring a stronger sense of “liveness” to the space.

The PCM96 Surround uses multimode filters at several spots in the audio flow to provide more exact shaping of the reverb while still maintaining the distinctive Lexicon sound. All reverbs have an ‘infinite’ switch that allows the reverb to run forever, a useful feature for creating unusual backgrounds and sound effects. With decades of legacy products to leverage, the PCM96 Surround includes over 2200 of the finest collection of factory presets available.

The PCM96 Surround can be divided into four virtual machines, each of which can run its own algorithm. This allows the signal from each input to be routed through a variety of algorithm combinations. Following in the tradition of the PCM60, PCM70 and PCM96 signal processors, the PCM96 Surround delivers the versatility and rich sound that is unmistakably Lexicon.
